A lot of financial advisors are helping clients with the current down and volatility of the stock market. It’s true, what’s happened there is scary.

Others are stressed about what to do about work due to infection. Occurrences for taking sick days, occurrences for staying home with children if schools close, if the children stay home but you’re at work then maybe there’s food insecurity and the children are unsupervised, and needing that paycheck to pay the bills.

If you are worried about what to do, remember to take care of your four walls first. If your income stream (paycheck) falters, use it to keep food on the table, a roof over your head, the water running, the heat and lights on.

Some states, such as Maryland, are opening a medical insurance special enrollment period due to COVID19. Those are state-by-state decisions as to whether to make such an offer (so far as of when I’m writing this article, Minnesota is not), so please look for current information for your state.

In an emergency, keep it simple, keep your basics.
